Neus Ledesma Vidal
Neus Ledesma Vidal (Barcelona, 1989*) is a performer and choreographer and works in Bremen. She creates work through interdisciplinary collaborations and is looking for ways to move the local scene. She is interested in the body as a storyteller and as a mediator to shake thoughts. She explores movement through the lens of other media such as text, images, memories and understands collaboration as a working method that is at the beginning of every artistic process. Biography and feminism are often the focus of her projects.
She studied at the London Contemporary Dance School (2007-10) and then worked together in Barcelona with Andrea Just (HandMadeDance 2011-17). Since 2017 she has lived in Bremen, where she regularly works with Magali Sander Fett, Birgit Freitag and Pretty Playful Productions.
In 2021, rebonico was brought to the premiere, a tribute to the folk dance of her hometown (Sant Mateu). In 2022, she produced and curated together with her colleagues Gabriela Valdespino and Farzad Golghasemi RESTORE_, a series of site-specific performances in the Bremen West. Her second piece as a choreographer, Las Otras, was premiered in October 2022 in Schaulust.
Since the summer of 2022, she has been part of the TanzKollektivBremen.
She is currently building an artistic bridge between Barcelona/València and Bremen: in 2023 she worked with the visual artist Jorge Julve on a long-distance experiment between body and image. The premiere of Flesh and Flowers took place in November 2024 – a piece designed in a format in which Neus fulfills her personal desire to become the curator of a team in the service of an idea. Therefore, she invited Laura Alcalà (La Súbita) to choreograph a piece for the TanzKollektivBremen (TKB).
